- Inaugural One Young World Summit Opening Ceremony Welcomes World Leaders and Young People to London
The first-ever One Young World Summit has begun in London this evening with world leaders like Bob Geldof, Desmond Tutu and Muhammad Yunus joining the Mayor of London Boris Johnson to welcome nearly 1,000 delegates from more than 120 countries. The ceremony took place at Old Billingsgate in London, just down from the famed Tower Bridge, and included special addresses from co-founders David Jones (Global CEO of Havas Worldwide) and Kate Robertson (UK Group Chairman of Euro RSCG), as well as counselors Geldof and Tutu. The two-day summit begins tomorrow with the likes of Kofi Annan, Senator John Kerry and Oscar Morales joining more than 20 other prominent world figures to support delegates as they address six key issues including: The Environment, Global Health, Global Business, Interfaith Dialogue, Future of Media and Global Politics.
